Farm & Family

Slightly elevated in the small village of Moso near Sesto, with open views of the impressive Sesto Sundial, lies the Gesenhof – a centuries-old South Tyrolean farm still in family hands. Here the Seeber family lives with their animals, closely connected to nature, the seasons and authentic country life.

Cows with their calves, two horses, chickens and cats are just as much a part of the Gesenhof as tranquillity, warmth and the true South Tyrolean way of life.

The bakery, butcher’s, a small grocery shop and several restaurants are all within easy walking distance – ideal for anyone who wants to leave the car parked during their holiday.

In summer, hiking and biking tours start right from the farm – to the Val Fiscalina, the Three Peaks or to cosy alpine huts and scenic high trails. Grandpa Christof knows every path in the area and is happy to share his best tips – from easy family walks to hidden favourites.

In winter, you can head straight from the house onto the slopes, the cross-country trails or the toboggan run. Host Judith is a qualified ski instructor and loves to share her favourite pistes and techniques.

Mobility is easy too: the nearest bus stop is just five minutes’ walk away, and the train station is in nearby San Candido.

For children there are playgrounds in the village and at the mountain stations – and of course nature itself as the biggest adventure playground. On hot days the outdoor pool in the village or the Aquafun adventure pool in San Candido offer a refreshing break. Sport enthusiasts will also find tennis courts, mini-golf, a climbing hall and much more in the village.

And above it all lies the essence of the mountains. Pure, fresh and soothing – just like life here at the Gesenhof.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Scent of the Mountains

Judith has been deeply engaged with the effects of essential oils for many years – especially those from doTERRA, whose name comes from Latin and means “gift of the earth.” These natural plant essences fascinate her not only because of their fragrance, but above all because of their profound impact on body, mind, and soul.

Essential oils contain the concentrated life force of plants – extracted from flowers, leaves, bark, or roots – and work in many ways: depending on their composition and use, they can calm, strengthen, balance, or invigorate. Particularly fascinating is their influence on our limbic system, the part of the brain responsible for emotions, memories, and inner balance. Scents reach this center through the nose directly – faster than any word or conscious decision.

In this way, essential oils can help reduce stress, improve sleep, lift the mood, or ease physical discomfort – naturally and gently. Judith integrates them into her daily life, in room design, in small feel-good rituals, and also for supporting guests – always with sensitivity and with a deep understanding of nature’s power.

The whole family shares this passion – and each has their own favorite scent that reflects their personality: invigorating peppermint, soothing lavender, fruity citrus notes, or the deep, woody stone pine.

As our guest, you are welcome to discover this fragrant world, take a sniff, try it out, or simply be inspired – whether through lovingly scented rooms, small impulses for everyday life, or Judith’s personal tips.

Because the scent of the mountains here is not only tangible – it is part of our way of life.
